another new law that took effect january first was house bill 11…..which was passed by the 20-24 general assembly…..and seeks to prevent the sale of electronic
cigarettes…..better known as vapes……to young people…..
house bill 11 limits vaping products that can be sold in the commonwealth….. but the majority of them are especially the disposable flavor ones.....are often popular
among young people…..
the new law only allows sales of authorized products….or those that have a "safe harbor certification” based on their status with the food and drug
administration…..and a very small percentage of vape pens on the market are actually f-d-a approved……none authorized products are required to be removed from
shelves.....otherwise the retailer can face penalties under the new law……
