GOVERNOR EXTENDS STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR PARTS OF KENTUCKY

at the request of dozens of city and county governments…..governor andy beshear has extended the  state of emergency he issued january fifth…..in the wake of severe

winter storms which included activation of the price gouging statute  thru may third…..

 

under state law…..a state of emergency can only exceed 30-days…..if it’s requested by a local government chief executive officer or legislative body…. and that entity

must include the end date in the letter…..

 

27 county judge-executives and 13 city mayors requested the extension  and it will only be honored in those cities and counties….so it’s not a blanket extension for the

entire commonwealth……
