KENTUCKY ATTORNEY GENERAL RUSSELL COLEMEN HAS ANNOUNCED THE LAUNCH OF A 15-MILLIOIN DOLLAR GRANT PROGRAM TO EQUIP LOCAL LAW

ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WITH MUCH NEEDED BODY ARMOR AND OTHER GEAR…..

 

EARLIER THIS YEAR……THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY CREATED THE……BODY ARMOUR GRANT PROGRAM AND PROVIDED FUNDING FOR TWO YEARS…..THE GRANTS

WILL SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIRST RESPONDERS IN PURCHASING BODY ARMOUR….DUTY WEAPONS… AMMUNITION….ELECTRONIC CONTROL

DEVISES…AND BODY-WORM CAMERAS…..

 

CURRENTLY……AROUND 20-PERCENT OF KENTUCKY LAW ENFORCEMENTOFFICERS HAVE EIHTHER EXPIRED BODY ARMOUR OR NONE AT ALL…..AND MANY ARE

LEFT TO PURCHASE THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT……
